Re:Create, our tried and tested business skills programme, made its debut in the borough of Westminster in November 2024, making Westminster the third London borough to benefit from the scheme.

We are thrilled to support creative enterprises across Westminster with bespoke advice, support and training, alongside opportunities for participants to develop a supportive network of other creative London businesses.

The Programme Details

The selected cohort will receive three hours of individual mentoring from an expert in the creative industries in the New Year. The sessions will be tailored to individual needs, with the aim of building skills and confidence and creating a sustainable business model for future growth.

In addition, any creative business in the borough of Westminster can develop their business skills through a bespoke e-learning programme, offered for free until September 2025, and a range of networking events.

E-learning

Our specially designed e-learning programme has four modules covering Marketing and E-Commerce, Funding, Business Resilience and Team Building. The course is delivered through on-demand training videos and downloadable resources.

It is available free of charge to all creative businesses with a City of Westminster post code until September 2025. Available to purchase at £185+VAT without a relevant post code.

Click here to access. You will be asked to fill in a short eligibility form,  giving your business details and Westminster post code.

Networking

Building a strong network is key to business success. Through the Re:Create Westminster programme, we’re offering two key events in 2025 to help Westminster’s creative businesses broaden their networks in the borough and beyond. Click here  to be added to the Creative United newsletter to keep up with information and events.

Re:Create Westminster is funded by the City of Westminster’s Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ) and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The Re:Create programme aims to offer businesses in the CEZ the opportunity to build a strong network with the wealth of creative businesses across the borough and further afield.

Creative businesses in Westminster’s Creative North Paddington Enterprise Zone(CEZ) are strongly encouraged to participate as part of the council’s drive to create a place where creative production grows, is sustainable, and is accessible for all.

Please contact programme manager, Susie Agathou: susie.agathou@creativeunited.org.uk with any questions.

The Re:Create Story

Re:Create has been piloted and developed in the London Borough of Wandsworth since 2021, supporting more than 100 creative businesses in the area. An evaluation of last year’s programme saw an estimated £165,000 in additional income, new jobs created and an increase in confidence and business skills among the programme participant

The Wandsworth programme is now in its third year, with a new cohort of 50 creative businesses that will receive tailored one-to-one business mentoring from experienced professionals within creative industries, plus e-learning resources and networking opportunities.
This year, the programme has expanded across London and will also be delivered in the boroughs of Westminster and Richmond upon Thames, supporting more than 100 London creative businesses in 2024/5.
The learning offered by the programme is tailored to the creative industries involved and the particular challenges they face, with the aim of safeguarding and supporting these vital industries.
Re:Create is funded by the Local Authorities, with funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and, in Westminster, the Creative Enterprise Zone.

What difference has the programme made?

Participants from a diverse range of creative fields – including artists, filmmakers, designers, performing artists, writers, makers, musicians and photographers – have already benefited from the bespoke business support and training on offer.

Elaine Giles, Artist (Re:Create 2023 participant) said:

My business mentor asked very clarifying questions. She really gave me confidence and a structure. My mentor and the e-learning course were absolutely brilliant. It changed my life. Transformative.”

Natalie Teming-Amoako, Afrochick Productions (Re:Create 2023 participant) said:

What was great about having the mentor was that he showed he believed in me, I needed that support.”
