How the cohort felt after completing the Re:Create 2023 programme:
What did the cohort have to say?
“The Re:Create Programme and in particular the 1 to 1 business mentoring has given me the confidence to do my own solo show his year as part of the London Design Festival. I have a clearer vision of what I want to do in the next 5 years. Before having the mentoring, I felt very chaotic and unstable but with a few changes and new aims I have calmed down and things seem to be back on track.”
Hannah Simpson – Owner, Hannah Simpson Studio“I recognise a need to address budgetary planning and have created a balanced programme of workshops, creative artwork, travelling, painting en Plein air and approaching Galleries and online marketing to sell my original and digital prints.
“I feel excited about these new ventures, the possibility of becoming not just solvent but having a degree of prosperity unseen for 24 years.”
Elaine Giles – Creator, Make a Mark
“I found my mentor to be very clear and concise with their advice. This really helped me focus myself. Getting someone to help your business from an outside and completely new perspective is a very effective tool.“
Glyn Roberts – Owner, GT Roberts Photography
“For me the mentoring was excellent time spent with my mentor as I used the time to go through a funding application. The funding was with Arts Council and my mentor's previous experience with them helped shed light on the application. When I'm ready to apply I think this will have a huge impact on my business, should I win. Even if I don't, I think the exercise was a very valuable one that I can use in other applications.”
Premila Puri – Managing Director, Be Kind Productions Ltd
“Confidence is the main thing that has changed for me. Firstly, that has come from learning about the business plan, marketing, structure, and planning. Having an understanding of how all the different aspects of business work have enabled me to come up with a plan and be proactive not just reactive. And secondly that I have a skill that is worth something.”
Wilbur Moore – Owner/Director, Floating Focus Facilities, Ltd.
