The first cohort of creative leaders joining Re:Create GrowthCamp will gain candid insights into transforming a concept into a catwalk-ready brand from entrepreneur and mentor James West on Tuesday, 14 July.

In the opening session of Creative United’s new 12-week business growth programme, James will share his journey as co-founder of FEVVERS – a start-up that has already attracted international media attention, appeared on the runway with Stella McCartney and sparked conversations with some of the world’s leading fashion brands.

For over a decade, James has helped creative people turn ideas into businesses as founder of West Creative and as part of Creative United’s business mentor network. He’s advised more than 500 creative business owners on everything from positioning and marketing to partnerships, growth and business development.

Since 2025, he’s put that advice to the test himselfAs co-founder of  FEVVERShe’s been developing a plant-based alternative to animal feathers for the fashion industry and experiencing first-hand the challenges, risks and opportunities of building a business from scratch.

In this practical and honest talk, James shares what happens when you stop advising from the sidelines and start building something yourself – including the realities of risk, uncertainty, momentum and backing your own ideas.

The talk forms part of the expert insights and learning creative businesses and leaders can expect on Re:Create GrowthCamp. Working with a stellar team of business mentors and together with other inspirational peers, businesses learn practical strategies for success.  

The new 12-week programme has been developed by Creative United as part of our mission to support creative livelihoods across the UK. It builds on the successful Re:Create Programme, that has supported more than 200 creative businesses across London and Essex since 2021.
