Emma's Re:Create Story

Woman with brown hair and a navy blue top with white flowers sits on a wooden stool surrounded by nature. She is holding a camera.

Having run her business for over six years, Emma was keen to elevate her overall confidence and time management skills, which she’d identified as areas that were holding back her business. With an ambition to address these barriers, grow the business and increase work/life balance, we matched Emma with business coach Nat Harrison.

Together they addressed ways Emma could unlock her potential, increasing confidence through guided exercises, and honing time management skills with a variety of techniques. They analysed how Emma was allocating time and identified ways to streamline the business, removing unprofitable activities, such as her framing service, and asserting boundaries with self and clients, to achieve a better work/life balance.

Describing her experience with Nat as ‘excellent’ Emma said, “[The mentoring was] really helpful in terms in providing expert guidance, fresh perspectives, and confidence to refine my skills.”

On the impact on her business, she added: “It’s helped me streamline my workflow, improve client interactions, and elevate my brand.”

Alongside the mentoring, Emma embraced the teaching available through the Re:Create Business Skills E-learning course which she describes as “highly effective” and “offering clear, practical advice, “training, and guidance”

As a freelancer, Emma also appreciated the flexibility of the E-learning offer saying it was: “Great to be able to dip in and out of.”

The Re:Create Effect

At the end of the programme, Emma reported greater confidence in herself and her ability to grow and sustain her business, believing her income will increase as a result of being on the programme.

Summing up her experience, Emma said:

“The programme has given me greater confidence in my pricing, offering, and time management. I’ve refined my workflow, improved time management and updated my website to focus on the areas I want to grow. I feel more positive and confident about the future.”

“Moving forward, I’ll continue applying these strategies, focusing on attracting more commercial clients and improving efficiency. I’m going to try to worry less!”
