Historic Motor and Sail are developing a new project which will bring a collection of sailing vessels, classic cars & motorcycles, artworks, ephemera and artefacts to the wider public. The collection will form part of a living & working visitor attraction that aims to connect, educate and engage with people from all walks of life – regional, national and international.

Plans for the attraction include educational and hands-on workshops keeping traditional boat building, maritime and engineering skills alive, live demonstrations of the vehicles, trips out in the historic sailing vessels and displays & collections telling the fantastic story of the vessels from the time of the Battle of Trafalgar to the present day and into the future.

We are also looking to incorporate event hospitality within the development in the form of a function/meeting room with café bar facilities and also an outdoor events area that can be utilised by all for a variety of purposes including regattas, club meets, fetes, social events etc.

We intend that the HMS development will become one of the key drivers for the redevelopment of the Kasbah and Dock areas of Grimsby. It will be an anchor attraction for other businesses and organisations to locate to the area and develop and preserve both the history and the future of this currently neglected part of Grimsby’s heritage.

The Kasbah will become a vibrant and shining beacon for Grimsby and the wider region
