Guide Bridge Theatre was founded in 1940. It is an inclusive, diverse amateur dramatic society, located since 1972 in its own building in one of the most deprived areas of the UK. Its vision is that ‘…performance arts have a valuable role to play in enhancing the quality of life for individuals’ and to this end produces a broad range of both contemporary and traditional work.

It is recognised as a ‘valuable community asset’ by the local authority and is home to a seniors tap class and two youth groups (GBT youth and BASE Performing Arts). A community interest company, Made By Mortals is also based at the theatre premises and offers performance and multimedia workshops for adults, people with mental and learning problems and 16 – 25 year old NEETs.

Guide Bridge Theatre joins the Prosper North community as part of Edition 3.
