Prosper North: Art Gene

Art Gene is a Barrow based, artist-led visual arts and research charity which has been engaging people locally and nationally in the regeneration of their social, natural and built environment and heritage since 2002.

Art Gene is a leader in outdoor participation, consultation and delivery of artworks and place-making. We run an ambitious programme of community development, engaging some of the UK’s most deprived, isolated coastal communities to effect positive change; driving an agenda of transformational and sustainable renewal; unique to the area, but in a way that provides an outstanding model for similar communities across the UK
