As part of our Edition one, Prosper North Community, Annapurna Indian Dance were participants of the previous cohort exploring the extent of how business support could impact and drive the mission of their organisation in Calderdale, North of England. Edition one ran from September 2019 to March 2020. This what Annapurna Indian Dance are all about.
Annapurna Indian Dance based in Calderdale offers enjoyable and creative Indian dance projects using music and storytelling. Our vision is to connect communities through cross cultural education for promoting harmony and understanding between people from different backgrounds and committed to working with people of all ages and abilities. We have been producing vibrant and well researched combined arts projects and sharing it with grassroots communities, touring in theatres, schools, colleges, Libraries and museums and over the years and reached 250,000 people throughout the UK.
One of the strategic aims of our company is to develop themes of work with new ideas and perspectives which are relevant to today’s society. We are proactive to find and deliver well researched projects which not only celebrate equality of opportunity and diversity but help to create a better understanding of Indian culture and heritage within local communities. Our most recent project “Soldiers of the Empire” has been one such project which was about the shared history of Britain with India and the contribution of Indian soldiers form undivided India to WW1.
Our aim for participating on the Prosper North was to gain further knowledge and gather help in sustaining our business as well as growing and increasing our capacity.
