CADS South Yorkshire is an arts and heritage charity based in Sheffield.
Since 2010 they have taken on disused buildings and transformed them into vibrant cultural spaces by subletting smaller rooms as artist’s studios and utilising larger spaces for cultural events. In 2017 CADS took on a 25 year lease of The Abbeydale Picture House, a large historic former cinema in Sheffield with the aim of turning it into a fully licensed, refurbished community arts venue.
The building is now the central focus of their operations and in 3 years of occupation they have hosted over 220 events in the building and welcomed over 100,000 visitors. Later this year the building will celebrate 100 years since it initially opened and they are working towards hosting a comprehensive cultural programme to mark the occasion.
CADS South Yorkshire joins the Prosper North community as part of Edition 2.
