Since we launched Own Art, 10 years ago, over 30,000 people have used the scheme to purchase more than £25 million worth of contemporary art and craft.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we have commissioned Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller to create a digital animation. Based on his work from the Venice Biennale 2013, the animation will be split into 10,000 stills and be available to download free online as unique individual works of art. Everyone who does so becomes part of a global Own Art Collective, showing that anyone can be an art collector. Jeremy Deller’s artwork will be available for download from Monday 7th July 2014.

On Saturday 19th July, the grand reveal of Deller’s final animation will premiere simultaneously on screens across Westfield London and Westfield Stratford. This has been made possible by Exterion Media who are an ideal partner given their extensive digital footprint in London. In particular, the huge number of people at Westfield will ensure Own Art engages with a wide, urban audience.

In addition, as part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations, Own Art customers will now be able to borrow anything from £100 to £2,500 (previously £2,000). The loan can also be used as a part-payment on higher value items, helping to promote more ambitious buying.

Keep an eye out on the Own Art Facebook and Twitter feeds for more information on when and where to get your free download. Help us celebrate 10 years of Own Art by spreading the word about the scheme and get more people collecting contemporary art!
