As we move closer to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Own Art scheme in 2024, Creative United is taking time to consult directly with artists on how the scheme is benefitting them – starting with those in Scotland.
Creative Scotland has been a funding partner for the Own Art since 2006. With over 54 participating member galleries located in Scotland, in the past 10 years alone the scheme has supported the sale of more than £6.5m works of contemporary art and craft to UK customers.
As we approach the 20th anniversary of the launch of Own Art in 2024, Creative United is taking time to consult directly with artists (starting with those in Scotland) to understand how the scheme may have benefitted them in terms of increased sales, visibility and/or changing perceptions of the opportunities to see, buy and collect contemporary art as something that can be accessible for the many, not just the few.
