A group of 24 creative enterprises based in Richmond upon Thames has been selected for Re:Create Richmond – a business support programme, devised to help boost sustainability and growth.

Re:Create Richmond has been specifically designed to help the creative industries in the borough develop sustainable business models and skills through expert support and training. Creative United is delivering this programme with funding from Richmond Council via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The programme aims to provide a lifeline for creative businesses to develop and thrive.

The scheme, which has been running in Wandsworth for the past three years, generated an estimated £165,000 in additional income and created new jobs among last year’s participants. This year, the programme has expanded to include the London Boroughs of Richmond and Westminster.
The 24 Richmond-based creatives and creative businesses selected this year represent the incredible creative diversity the borough offers. From painters and performers to craft shops and filmmakers – all have been carefully selected from a pool of applicants to join this year’s cohort.

Each will receive four hours of tailored one-to-one business mentoring from experienced professionals, and the chance to grow their professional networks through in-person and virtual events. In addition, the cohort, and any creative business in the borough, can benefit from free access to a suite of specially designed e-learning modules until September 2025. The on-demand course covers a range of essential skills from marketing and e-commerce to funding and business resilience, delivered in the form of training videos and downloadable resources.

To access the training, creatives should fill in a short eligibility form with their Richmond postcode to receive a 100% discount code.

“As a social enterprise, Creative United is dedicated to championing and empowering those who make their livelihoods in the creative industries, because we know how much the arts and culture benefits our lives and economy. So, I’m thrilled that we are welcoming another cohort, this time in the London borough of Richmond, to our Re:Create programme, so we can support even more amazing artists, makers and creative business owners to thrive.”– Sarah Thirtle, Director of Strategic Development, Creative United
