Sam Hartley started his business around 5 years ago. Like many people in their thirties, he wanted a career change and wanted to do something creative. He worked for several furniture companies in the past so was able to hit the ground running.
He has “always been working in Walthamstow because it feels like a great place to be: there are lots of people doing similar work and lots of people in the area who appreciate bespoke woodwork”.
Sam’s work has always been predominantly residential fitted furniture such as bespoke wardrobes or living room cabinets. Over the 5 years he has honed both workshop and design skills and now prefer working with a mixture of solid timber and birch ply.
Sam joins the Forge community as part of the fourth and final edition, Cohort 4.
