London Made Me Returns: Empowering Creative Entrepreneurs to Transform High Streets
Creative United has partnered with The Mayor of London’s Office and retail consultants Alice Mayor and Jo Armitage, for the second year of the London Made Me Pop-Up Shop. The project underscores Creative United’s mission as a social enterprise to support independent artists, makers, and creative enterprises to reach wider audiences and to support the resilience and innovation of the creative economy.
Funded by the Mayor of London’s Office, the initiative inspires and empowers London Made Me’s newest creative recruits to allow their businesses to take new heights. The objective is clear: to enable creative entrepreneurs to launch their own stores and revitalize their local high streets once the festive period concludes. With the closure of high street staples such as Wilko, support has never been more crucial. Creative United believe the arts and creative industries could hold the key to transform and reinvigorate high streets nationwide.
Creative United has been delivering business support programmes for arts organisations and creative enterprises across England since the company was founded in 2013.

Mary-Alice Stack, Chief Executive at Creative United said:
We are extremely proud to be working in partnership with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, this Christmas to showcase the talent and diversity of London’s creative community through the Mayor’s London Made Me retail training and shop programme. Together, we are not just fostering creativity; we are helping to seed opportunities for creative enterprises to flourish and grow by establishing themselves as an integral part of the retail offering on local highstreets across the capital.”
After meticulous consideration by the London Made Me team, 12 businesses from London’s Creative Enterprise Zones have been selected to participate. Their innovative ideas and creative offerings will come to life in their very own pop-up store, nestled in the bustling heart of London’s Carnaby Street.
Meet the businesses
But this endeavour is not just about pop-up shops; it is a transformative journey. Before the grand unveiling, our entrepreneurs embarked on two-weeks of bespoke training sessions, carefully curated within Somerset House, one of London’s creative powerhouses. These sessions equipped our artists, independent traders, creatives, and small creative enterprises with the practical skills, invaluable insights to not only survive but thrive in running their own pop-up spaces.
