Calling all UK artists and makers!

This important national study seeks to understand the extent to which artists and makers generate income through the sale of their work. The Artists’ Livelihoods Survey is a vital piece of research being led by Coventry University’s Research Centre for Creative Economies, working in partnership with Creative United and with the support of its Own Art scheme funding partners: Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Arts Council of Wales.

The purpose of the research is to identify the proportion of artist and maker incomes that relate specifically to the sale of work, and whether this varies significantly by art form, geography or demographic characteristics. The findings will play a crucial role in identifying and developing support for sustainable artistic livelihoods across the UK.
