Call for Evidence – Business Support for the Cultural and Creative Sector
Invitation to contribute to a review of current business support provision for the cultural and creative sector.
A Call for Evidence: Business Support and the Cultural and Creative Sector
Creative United has been involved in providing business support to organisations in the arts and creative sectors for a number of years now. Our aim has been to provide the best possible advice to enable business growth and access to finance, and to promote good practice by gathering and sharing data and other insights on the needs of the sector.
In December 2016, a consortium led by Creative United was successful in securing funding from Arts Council England to introduce a new business support programme (“Prosper”).
As part of this consortium, the Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University is undertaking research on current business support provision for the cultural and creative sector and investigating previous research and evaluation on what has (or hasn’t) worked. This research is also being supported by Creative Scotland and Access – the Foundation for Social Investment.
The outputs will be a literature review document and the development of a ‘compendium’ of business support for creative and cultural organisations.
This notice is for any UK based organisation or individual that might want to submit to this call for evidence – research, evaluations, project literature or other information on business support for creative and cultural organisations, which is in the public realm. If there is information that is not in the public realm, you will need to send evidence of expressed permission from the data holder when sending such information.
Information provided will only be used for the purposes of this research and associated compendium. In addition, you have the right to request the withdrawal of any information you provide within two months, without needing a reason.
If you would like to submit evidence, please forward any relevant information and documentation to kevin.broughton@coventry.ac.uk or phone 02477 655 779.
Please note that the deadline for submissions is 18:00 on Wednesday 15 March 2017.
