Sarah Thirtle

Director of Business Support Programmes

I lead on the strategy and programme development for our access to finance and business support work. From 2014-16 this focused on delivering the Creative Industry Finance programme, which to date has provided 2,700 hours of free, expert business advice to 300 creative and cultural companies, and unlocked access to £1million of loan finance.

From 2017 I am spearheading the launch and delivery of our new business support programme for the arts, museums and libraries called Prosper, as well as devising new partnership initiatives and consultancy opportunities.

I studied Film and Drama at University, but music is my first love. My career in the creative industry began booking bands into live music venues in London. I soon set up my own booking agency and consultancy, which gave me first-hand experience of the challenges of setting up and running my own business. A few years later I side-stepped into the world of grant-giving by becoming the Communications Manager for PRS for Music Foundation, before joining the team at Creative United. I am also on the Board of Trustees for the Music Venue Trust.
